THE LOCAL AREA

Hawkhurst, the 'crossroads' of the Weald, is a well-connected and attractive village, known for its distinctive white colonnade of shops. It's a great base for exploring Kent's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as well as visiting the coast. There are a wide variety of attractions and places to visit in the area, including the six National Trust properties within 10 miles!

From hip Hastings to trendy Tunbridge Wells, there are plenty of towns and villages to explore across the Weald.
We are ideally located for visiting Tenterden and Rye, two of the most popular destinations in Kent, both less than 20 minutes away.

ATTRACTIONS

There's no shortage of impressive castles, stately homes and stunning gardens to visit, all within a few miles.
From the battlements of Bodiam Castle to the stunning floral displays at Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, there's something for visitors of every age.

LEISURE

The Weald has many outdoor activities, attracting walkers, cyclists and bird watchers, to name but a few.
If you're looking for more adrenaline filled adventure, there's Go Ape plus other outdoor pursuits nearby...or just have a quiet day on the sands at Camber!

FOOD & DRINK

Whether you're in the mood for fine-dining or just a decent pub, there's no shortage of places to eat.
If you're after local produce, there are numerous farm shops, vineyards, breweries and cider makers close by, not to mention at least one gin distillery!

PLACES TO VISIT

Hawkhurst itself has a number of historic buildings and independent shops to explore plus the Kino, our local independent cinema. If you're looking for somewhere to eat, there are a number of pubs, cafes and takeaways in the village plus award-winning dining establishments nearby including The Small Holding and The West House.
